Will AI change my product's colour, shape, logo or label text?
The short answer
It can, and unchecked it often does. Most image generators redraw the product along with the scene, so colours shift, proportions stretch, and logos and small text come out warped or misspelt. The fix is a process rather than a better tool: work from photos of the real product, check every frame against it, and repair the product by hand wherever the AI drifted.
Why does AI change the product at all?
Because most image generators do not place your product into a scene; they redraw the whole picture, product included, from your photo and the prompt. Every redraw is a fresh interpretation, so small changes creep in, and they compound across a set.
Some tools take the opposite approach: they cut the product out of your photo and generate only the background. That keeps the product's pixels, but the product then sits in light that was never on it, with shadows and reflections that do not match the room. Either way, the frame needs a person to check it and finish it.
Which product details go wrong most often?
Colour, proportion, scale, texture, text and small parts. These are also the details a customer checks first when the parcel arrives, which is why they matter more than anything else in the frame.
| Detail | What goes wrong | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| Colour | Drifts towards the colours of the room, or gains saturation | Compare side by side with a daylight phone photo |
| Shape | Legs thin out, arms reshape, corners soften | Trace the outline against your product photo |
| Scale | The product grows or shrinks against the room | Check it against a door, a bed or a person |
| Texture | Weave, grain or knit flattened into a smooth surface | Zoom to full size |
| Logos and text | Letters warp, misspell or disappear | Read every word on the label at full size |
| Parts | Buttons, cushions, handles or zips change in number or position | Count them against the real product |
Can AI keep a logo or label exactly right?
Not reliably on its own. The dependable method is to put the real label back by hand, from a clean photo of the pack or the original artwork file, matched to the angle and light of the scene.
That is why packaged goods, cosmetics, food and drink need more finishing than a sofa or a rug. If text matters, send the label artwork with the photos, so the finished frames carry the exact wording, typeface and colours of the real pack.
How do you keep the product accurate across a whole set of images?
Fix one reference for each product and judge every frame against it, never against the frame before. Drift compounds when each new image is compared with the last, so a set can wander a long way from the real product without any single step looking wrong.
- Choose one daylight photo as the reference for each product and colourway
- Generate more scenes than you need, and keep only those where the product is closest to the reference
- Correct colour, shape and parts against the reference, not against other frames
- Rebuild text and logos from the artwork or a clean photo of the pack
- Finish the scene by hand: the contact shadow, the reflections and the light on the product
- Check the final set side by side at full size before anything goes live
What should I send so the AI has the real product to work from?
A couple of phone photos of each product in daylight: the front, one other angle and a close-up of the material, with a note on what it is made of and its size. Nothing needs to be posted.
- Daylight, not a warm lamp, so the colour in the photo is the colour of the product
- The whole product in frame, with nothing covering it
- A close-up of the fabric, grain, finish or print
- Dimensions, so the product sits at its real size in every room
- A swatch or the exact finish name for each colourway you want shown
- Label or logo artwork, if the product carries text
What happens if a finished image does not match my product?
With Bartley Studio, it is re-edited until it matches. If a final image fails to match the real-world dimensions, colour profiles or physical materials of your actual product, it is corrected with no cap on rounds and no extra fee.
Accuracy fixes are separate from creative changes. Changes of creative direction get one round of revisions; a frame that shows the wrong colour, size or material is never a matter of taste, so it is fixed for as long as it takes.
Other questions people ask about this
Will AI change my product's colour in different rooms?
Room light changes how any product looks, in a photo or in person, and AI tends to pull the product towards the room's palette. Check each frame against the same daylight reference, so the product looks like itself in a warm room and a cool one.
Can AI show every colourway from one set of photos?
Yes, if you supply a reference for each colour, such as a swatch photographed in daylight or the exact finish name. Without one, the colour is a guess, and a guessed colour is a returns risk.
Can Meta's ad tools change my product?
They can. Meta's help page says that although creative enhancements try to keep the core message of an ad, the media and text you upload may be adjusted, and some enhancements are on by default.

Replace it with a corrected frame rather than editing around the fault: compare it with the real product, fix the colour, shape or text by hand, and re-export at the size the store needs.
