How much does a product video cost?
The short answer
It depends on how the video is made and how many you order. A filmed shoot is priced by the day plus editing, a creator charges per video plus usage rights, and a studio may price per video or per second. Bartley Studio’s product video starts at $430 for one 6-second video, and three 10-second videos come to $830, in AUD excluding GST.
How is product video priced?
In four common ways: a day rate for a filmed shoot plus editing, a price per finished video, a creator’s fee per video, or a price per finished second. Each suits a different kind of video, and each hides different extras.
| Pricing model | How it works | Suits | Ask about |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day rate plus edit | Crew time on set, then editing billed by the day or the hour | Brand films, people on camera, real locations | How many finished videos and cuts the day will produce |
| Per video | One price for each finished video of a set length | A known list of videos | What an extra cut or format costs |
| Creator fee | A price per video from a UGC creator, with usage rights often extra | People demonstrating or reviewing the product | Where and for how long you can run it as a paid ad |
| Per finished second | A rate for each second delivered, plus any fees per video | Short product videos at volume | Setup and minimum fees, and whether the rate falls with volume |
What makes a product video cost more?
Crew, talent, locations and editing days push the price up most, and they are where two quotes for the same product drift furthest apart.
- A crew on set for camera, lighting and sound, each billed for the day
- Talent, and a fee for how long and where their footage can be used
- Location hire, or a studio set built to look like a room
- Freight of the product to the shoot and back
- Licensed music, voice-over and motion graphics
- Extra formats: a vertical and a wide version are two edits, not one
- Revisions after the first cut
How do I compare product video quotes fairly?
Put every quote on the same list of finished videos: the same lengths, formats and number of cuts, with usage rights and revisions included. Then divide each total by the number of finished videos you will actually run.
- The same list of videos, lengths and formats for every supplier
- Each extra format or cut-down priced on its own line
- Who owns the footage, and where and for how long you can use it
- Music licensing included, or shown as a cost on top
- Revisions written into the quote
- The turnaround from approval to finished files
- Every price either including or excluding GST, never a mix
What does a product video cost at Bartley Studio?
$19 per finished second before volume discounts, plus a $40 fee and $30 setup per video, in AUD excluding GST. A 16:9 hero adds 25%, and a $250 research fee applies while the video subtotal is under $1,000.
| Order | Price |
|---|---|
| One 6-second video (the smallest order) | $430 |
| One 10-second video | $500 |
| Three 10-second videos | $830 |
| Five 10-second videos | $1,130 |
| One 30-second 16:9 hero video | $920 |
Each of these orders includes the $250 research fee. The price per video falls as you order more: one 10-second video is $500, while five come to $1,130, about $226 each. The calculator on the product video page prices other lengths and quantities.
What does a Bartley Studio product video include?
A finished video made from photos of the product, planned, directed, generated and edited in-house. There is no shoot, crew, location or freight in the price, because none of them is needed.
- Two builds: a 9:16 vertical hook for Reels, Stories and phones, and a 16:9 loop for the homepage and desktop product pages
- Any length from 6 to 60 seconds
- A start from a couple of phone photos of each product, or the photos already on your store
- Ownership on full payment, to use anywhere, indefinitely and worldwide, with no separate licence
- Delivery in days rather than weeks
What it does not include is a person talking to camera. Bartley Studio does not make generated spokespeople, so for a founder message or a creator review, budget for a filmed shoot or a creator.
How do I get more product video for the same budget?
Order several short videos at once, keep each one to the length its job needs, and plan the formats together rather than adapting one later.
- Batch videos into one order, because the setup and the per-second rate fall with volume
- Keep sales ads short: Meta’s creative checklist suggests 6 to 10 seconds for direct-response ads
- Start with your best sellers and the products already in your ads
- Order the vertical and the wide version at the same time
- Use the same video on the product page and in ads wherever the format fits
